With an increase in automation of internal operations in every industry, the need for systems and application training is constantly on the rise. An effective training mechanism is an important factor while transitioning from a legacy application to a new system.
Our approach to systems training has evolved over the years. The use of the latest tools and technologies combined with our instructional design expertise enables us to design for user adoption and change management.
We create engaging and interactive training courses to help your workforce acclimatise to the new applications and technologies, thereby delivering better outcomes for your business.
Accessible on demand
Traditionally, learning experiences around enterprise applications were designed as a one-time activity during the enterprise-wide launch. This was done in a face-to-face lab environment and often followed up with an online course. This kind of one-time training is not effective in the context of complex enterprise applications with multiple use cases.
True enablement and adoption requires that the learning be accessible on demand, at the learner’s point of need. We offer solutions that enable learning in the flow of work, so that learners can access a learning module when they need it.
Granular structure for easy access
The learning experts at Hurix collaborate with business stakeholders and system implementation partners to arrive at a granular structure relevant to different user groups and the contexts in which the system will be used. Our training is built at the task level and organized to enable easy access for all users. So, everyone from a novice to an advanced power user can easily access help on the specific task they are looking for, within a few clicks.
Bite-sized modules
Following from a granular structure and the need to cater to specific users at their point of need, our application training modules are bite sized, with each module focused on a single learning objective.
Typically, a module will take no more than 5 to 6 minutes to complete, at the end of which the learner can turn back to the system and immediately apply what they have learned. This design offers scaffolding support at a level that cannot be matched by any one-time training program.
View or practice modes
Our bite-sized application training can be accessed in the view (Show Me) or practice (Try It) modes, depending on the learner’s preference. The view mode allows the learner to view a step-by-step video of the steps to be carried out to complete the particular task. The practice mode allows the learner to carry out the steps in a simulated environment, with helpful hints to guide them all the way through.
Instead of going through all tasks in both modes as part of mandatory training, the learners can choose the mode they wish to learn from, based on their level of expertise and the immediate need.
Gamification: Level up & mastery
Our application training solutions allow for a gamified approach to assessment for greater adoption. Instead of attempting a mandatory assessment, learners are encouraged to attempt tests so as to prove their proficiency with the system. Where appropriate, assessments may be designed with different levels of complexity.
Learners can attempt the different levels of assessments to test their knowledge and level up. This approach keeps the motivation high and encourages greater levels of adoption. This approach also allows our clients to identify power users opening up further possibilities to improve adoption.
